Continuation of Belgrade-Pristina dialogue at the highest level is not on the sight, even in January, Vecerenje Novosti reported, although the daily unofficially learnt that Federica Mogherini’s cabinet is trying to schedule a new round of dialogue by the end of January next year.

According to the Serbian daily, the main obstacle for continuation of a dialogue is persistence of Pristina to involve USA in it, a move that was not met with approval in Brussels.

If there would be attempts to change format of dialogue, then Belgrade announced it would seek participation of the Russian representative, and Russian President Vladimir Putin already gave a green light for it, during the meeting with the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic last week in Moscow.

Brussels also briefly responded to Vecernje Novosti, saying that “the work on a new phase of a dialogue on comprehensive normalization of relations between Serbia and Kosovo is ongoing” and according to the daily, this phrase foresees rising up the dialogue at the level of presidents.

On the other side, the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo believes the EU should strongly act to make Pristina return to the negotiations. The Office expects the EU mediators would more actively insist on the implementation of all reached agreements and on the opening of new topics significant for the normalization of relations between the two sides and everyday life of citizens.

During very few rounds this year, Belgrade requested opening of the topics on private property, public and socially owned properties, as well as the respect of human rights and freedoms of Serbs in Kosovo. Serbian side also insists that Pristina implements the agreement on the establishment of the Association of Serb Municipalities, Vecernje Novosti reported.
