The US, Britain, France, Germany and Italy condemned ongoing attempts by MPs in Pristina to revoke the law that allows the new Hague-based Specialist Chambers to try former Kosovo Liberation Army fighters.

Embassies of the US, Britain, France, Germany and Italy in Pristina said on Thursday that they were “deeply concerned” about Kosovo MPs’ ongoing attempts to revoke the law that allows the new Hague-based Specialist Chambers to operate.

The five so-called Quint countries, an informal decision-making group on Kosovo issues, urged politicians and state institutions to “abandon any thought of repealing or renegotiating any aspect of the Law on the Specialist Chambers”, which was passed by MPs in Pristina in 2015.
