Belgrade-based daily Vecernje Novosti today writes that it is no novelty that there is a strong will in Belgrade to protect its people in the event of escalation of violence in Kosovo, adding that the military top of Serbia regularly informed all previous KFOR commanders of their determination to ensure the security of their citizens.
”On several occasions, we have made it clear to the command of the international forces in Pristina that they are obliged to maintain order and peace and take care of the security situation of the Serbian people. Our message was that any violence against the Serbs, similar to the pogrom of 2004, will not be allowed,” says the interlocutor of Vecernje Novosti from the military top.
