Kosovo’s Minister for European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, said at the “Go West – Western Balkan” conference taking place in Vienna that European integration remains one of the key objectives of Kosovo’s foreign policy along with consolidation of democracy, rule of law, respect of human rights and creation of a functional market economy. She said she hoped the EU institutions would continue to provide a concrete and dynamic integration perspective for the whole of Western Balkans region. “The EU enlargement policy should be seen as a mechanism to make the EU family more complete and sustainable. We expect EU institutions to enable a clear path for Kosovo and other Western Balkans countries towards an EU perspective. I think unity at this stage is more important than ever,” Hoxha said in her remarks. She expressed the commitment of Kosovo government on implementation of European agenda and the Stabilisation and Association Agreement. “We expect Kosovo to be ready at the same time as other Western Balkans countries in joining the EU,” noted Hoxha.
