The visit of the Montenegrin Prime Minister, Dusko Markovic, is not expected to change positions when border demarcation between the two countries is concerned. This at least is the impression left by the response of the EU Office in Kosovo, on Indeksonline’s question “if EU would accept another eventual “modus vivendi” agreement between Kosovo and Montenegro.”

“Ratification of the border demarcation together with combatting of corruption and organized crime in Kosovo, are the two remaining criteria of the EU for Kosovo in order to gain visa liberalization,” is stressed in the response of the EU Office to Indeksonline.

“Ratification of the border demarcation agreement without further delays, would have been a strong signal that the Assembly is working for the interest of everyone in Kosovo,” continues the EU Office.

“Demarcation agreement should be ratified as a matter of joint interest to prevent Kosovo’s self-isolation, which affects interests and wishes of all people in Kosovo,” is concluded in the response.
