The President of Ksoovo, Hashim Thaci addressed today the governing cabinet where he spoke about the processes that Kosovo went through during the ten years of independence.

He invited the government to work with increased intensity on implementation of Stabilisation Association Agreement and European agenda.

He said the focus of Kosovo institutions should be economic development, citizens’ increased well-being, improvement of medical services, increase of quality in education, looking after KLA veterans and opening of new jobs.

Thaci said he is pleased with Kosovo’s continuous progress during the ten years.

“State building was not at all easy for us. Kosovo had to face major challenges,” he said and added that ten years ago, the north was under control of illegal structures, while today the reality is completely different.

Speaking about the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Thaci said it has already reached the conclusion phase and that it is time for a final agreement which means complete normalization of relations and inter-state reconciliation.

Speaking about Kosovo’s integration at NATO and EU, Thaci said the road is not an easy or a fast one, and added that current challenge is related to fulfillment of conditions for visa liberalization.

He hailed the efforts of the political institutional scene on finding a solution for ratification of the agreement on demarcation.

Speaking about the Special Court, Thaci said that although it is an injustice, Kosovo has taken over its obligations with regards to the Special Court and those obligations have to be fulfilled. “This decision was also made to keep strategic partnership with the U.S., EU and NATO,” Thaci said.
