One of the biggest problem faced by Kosovo’s society and its law enforcement mechanisms is the recruitment of Kosovars and their families in the terrorist organization “The Islamic State”. Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj commented on the issue, in an interview to The Daily Beast. “Our issue is ISIS women, who have children with non-Kosovars,” Haradinaj was quoted as saying. “Sometimes we do not know who these women had babies with. They could be children of ISIS commanders. Radical NGOs and local imams have created systematic propaganda for more than a decade, sometimes making the idea of joining attractive by making financial offers to uneducated kids”. Haradinaj also said that the biggest threats Kosovo faces are Serbia which has Moscow’s backing, Kosovars that are recruited by ISIS, and mafia groups operating in the northern part of Kosovo.
