Balkans: On track for EU membership or stagnation? (Telegrafi)

Carl Bildt, former Swedish Prime Minister, writes in an opinion piece for the European Council on Foreign Relations think-tank that there are three sets of challenges that will have to be overcome if any of the candidate countries are to become EU members in 2025. These include internal reform issues deciding the accession negotiations, reconciliation and bilateral disputes, and the EU readiness to accept new members.
