The President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci, spoke at the memorial academy for the 20th anniversary of the Likoshan and Qirez massacre, about the sacrifice of all those who fell for the freedom and independence of Kosovo.
“These sacrifices, KLA resistance, resistance of the citizens, orientation toward civilized values, made Kosovo gain the support of the West. As a young state, young democracy, we should be doing more for wellbeing of the citizens. Two decades of freedom, one decade of independence, is a short period for historic and epochal changes,” Thaci said.
He also stressed that Kosovo does not forget the fact that perpetrators have not been put in front of justice yet. “Kosovo seeks justice and requests from Serbia to apologize. KLA and citizens led a just war, in their land, for freedom and independence,” Thaci said.
Thaci also said that the Assembly of Kosovo will take today the right direction and vote for visa liberalization and in no manner for isolation.
