The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and Vetevendosje have asked the government of Kosovo to urgently annul decision on increasing salaries for the cabinet members. Head of LDK parliamentary group, Avdullah Hoti, said the decision was in violation to the applicable laws in Kosovo and furthermore presents an open case of conflict of interest. “This decision is unacceptable as it creates a huge gap with discriminatory elements between the incomes of different society groups and those of the officials of the government,” Hoti said. Vetevendosje’s MP, Albulena Haxhiu, also argued for annulment of the decision to increase salaries mentioning in this respect the opinion of the anti-corruption agency which considered the decision unlawful.
