Leader of the opposition Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), Milos Jovanovic told Serbian media the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic sent from New York “a clear confession” that the policy “both Kosovo and the EU has faced a complete failure.”
“This irrational Kosovo policy that he hastily implements, launched in 2008 by Democratic Party (DS), President of the Republic quite accurately called “stupid and irresponsible,” Jovanovic said in a written statement.
Jovanovic added the President of Serbia “during comprehensive talks with those making decisions learned what others have known for ten years already, that Serbia is requested to recognize independence of Kosovo and this stance would not change, since they consider the story as to whom Kosovo belongs as closed”.
He said “freedom, territorial integrity and prosperity of Serbia could only be secured by a fundamental change of the current policy, to cease process of the EU integration conditioned with the recognition of Kosovo independence, freeze Kosovo conflict, and with a comprehensive arrangement of a state as well as independent economic policy.”
