“We want the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia to be permanent,” said the U.S. Ambassador in Belgrade, Kyle Scott.

“Serbia should find its response with regard to the status of Kosovo,” Scott told Serbian media.

He denied that U.S. is making pressure on Serbia to recognize Kosovo’s statehood.

“Serbia should decide on its own about its fate. We, my government, as well as 100 other countries, have recognized Kosovo, and it depends on the two parties what deal they will reach,” Scott said.

He said that the U.S. are here to help, but that the dialogue is led by the European Union. “In order for Serbia to advance toward EU, Kosovo issue has to be resolved,” Ambassador Kyle Scott explained.
