The President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci, met in Brussels with the EU Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn.

“Kosovo has fulfilled all the criteria for liberalisation. I just concluded the meeting with Commissioner Hahn in Brussels. It was a productive meeting. After the ratification of the Agreement for border demarcation with Montenegro, Kosovo institutions have fulfilled all the criteria for visa liberalization. It is now the European Union’s turn to conclude procedures in order for the citizens’ free movement to happen as soon as possible. Kosovo will continue with its even higher commitment for the rule of law and overall reforms. Commissioner Hahn pledged that they will fulfill the required procedures within the EU institutions. It was a joint conclusion that ratification of demarcation with Montenegro was not only fulfillment of the condition for visa liberalization, but also a significant strategic step toward strengthening of peace, stability and good neighborhood in the region,” Thaci wrote on his Facebook profile.
