The Prime Minister of Kosovo,  Ramush Haradinaj said Kosovo has marked progress in consolidating rule of law and added that efforts for the rule of law are and will continue to be part of the daily agenda.

He made these comments after the discussions on this field with representatives of the judicial system, the Head of the EU Office in Kosovo Natliya Apostolova and the US Ambassador Greg Delawie.

Haradinaj said that since he assumed his duties as Prime Minister in September 2017, the Government held several meetings dedicated to the rule of law. “Today we were informed on the results of the judiciary in Kosovo. The judiciary is marking progress which confirms commitment of the Kosovo institutions,” Haradinaj wrote in Facebook.

He said that Kosovo courts of all levels have reviewed 618,991 cases in 2017, and managed to solve 310.880 cases. “Comparing the number of cases inherited from previous years the courts in 2017 have managed to reduce backlog of files, meaning that courts have increased their efficiency,” Haradinaj said promising Government’s support for the rule of law institutions.
