Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj responded today to the complaints of the Serb Deputy Prime Minister Dalibor Jevtic, with regard to Marko Djuric’s arrest on Monday.

Hoxhaj said Kosovo has a constitutional system and judicial order that has to be respected. He added that there is an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia reached in Brussels, which has to be respected by both parties.

“A senior official of the Serbian state cannot come to Kosovo without permission, just as we cannot go without permission to Serbia. We posses the file of the liaison office in Belgrade, which proves that Djuric has not respected any of the procedures for entrance in Kosovo,” Hoxhaj said.

He noted that the action was in no manner directed against Serb community in Kosovo, and called on Serbian List not to remain instrument of Belgrade’s politics, but cooperate with Kosovo state, where they live.

Hoxhaj also spoke about Wednesday’s gathering of over 100 individuals of Serb community in Mitrovica, to discuss unilateral establishment of the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities.

“Yesterday’s events in Mitrovica related to the association, were unacceptable. It is unacceptable to me as an official of the government of Kosovo to undertake such acts,” Hoxhaj said.
