Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti said today that his party is in favor of a motion of confidence against the Haradinaj-led government and that they want early parliamentary elections. Kurti writes in a Facebook post that the current government “has failed morally” and that it must be dismissed. Kurti argues that “the cases of Nenad Rikalo and Milan Radojcic, the enormous increase in government posts and higher salaries for government officials, the discrediting of Kosovo’s education and an increasing unemployment rate, Contour Global and the border demarcation [with Montenegro], including the secret deportation and violation of human rights of six Turkish nationals” are among the reasons why the current government must fall. “The Vetevendosje Movement wants early parliamentary elections as soon as possible and a motion of confidence against the government. The majority of the people and the majority of MPs are against the government. If this government remains in power it will mean violating civic and parliamentary democracy and the people’s will. Our country and people cannot remain hostage of the Prime Minister’s will or the President’s fear,” Kurti writes.
