Serbian Justice Minister Nela Kuburovic expressed her fear that the KLA Special War Crimes Tribunal, on which the EU insists, would remain “a dead letter on paper”, reports Serbian media.

“I am not sure how much that court will come to life at all, because for so long the indictments have been announced, but nothing is happening,” Kuburovic told Belgrade based daily Vecernje Novosti, reports KIM Radio.

The large number of cases that have been launched for crimes against Serbs, not only the last case ‘Medicus’, ended with the termination of the proceedings without any explanation, she explained.

She added that no proceedings before the judiciary and EULEX have been completed with a conviction for crimes against the Serbian and non-Albanian population, reports KIM radio, quoting the daily.

“Moreover, EULEX announces that it will reduce its mission and will completely abandon the part concerning the judiciary,” noted Kuburovic.

Kuburovic assessed that the return of the warrants on which were Hashim Thaci, Ramush Haradinaj and other Kosovo Albanians against whom the indictments were filed, was the result of a successful diplomatic offensive.

Kuburovic said to Vecernje Novosti that Serbia succeeded to persist, i.e. that these indictments were made on the basis of relevant laws and that everyone should respect international circumstances, reports KIM radio.
