President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, had a telephone conversation today with the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel. According to several online media, the two officials discussed strengthening of bilateral relations and the necessity to continue dialogue for normalization of relations with Serbia. Thaci reaffirmed Kosovo’s commitment to implementation of all agreements reached thus far as well as reaching a final, legally-binding agreement.
Chancellor Merkel is reported to have commended Kosovo’s constructive role in the dialogue process, ratification of the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro and the functionalizing of the team working on the draft statute for the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities.
