Belgrade-based daily Vecernje Novosti writes today that Sofia is carefully polishing the format of forthcoming Sofia Summit, in order not to hurt sensibility of states which have not recognized unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo.

Their message is clear, there would be no room for any kind of Kosovo „statehood“ there.

Slovakian State Secretary in the Foreign and European Affairs Ministry, Ivan Korcok who is also acting head of diplomacy, would take part in Sofia Summit, together with PM Peter Pellegrini, however under strictly determined conditions.

“Slovakia clearly defined many times what stance it has on Kosovo. We are pledging for the Sofia Summit to be organized in so-called Gymnich format, respectively without flags and state symbols. We acted this way several times in the past, and did the same while chairing the EU Council,” Korcok told Vecernje Novosti.

He also underlined the stance of Slovakia in regard to unilaterally declared Kosovo independence will not change.
