Leader of Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) Milos Jovanovic told BETA news agency, Serbian Government has rejected a proposal in 2007 similar to that of a legally binding agreement that is being offered to Aleksandar Vucic now.

Jovanovic assessed if Vucic does what he says he would do then it would be an “act of a high treason.”

“It looks like if one man is Messiah or given by God to resolve that issue. We must not give legal cover up to secession, but to re-affirm international law,” DSS leader said.

He added acceptance of Kosovo secession would open the new geopolitical issues and creation of “Great Albania”.

According to Jovanovic, this would not be an end, Raska area issue would be opened, the South of Serbia issue as well, and if the Government continues this way Nis would become Albanian.

Former Minister for Kosovo and Metohija, Slobodan Samardzic said that legally binding agreement is in fact “document on Kosovo recognition.”

“We have two permanent UN SC member states that would use the veto, five EU member states that do no recognize Kosovo and hundred of other states that do not recognize it either, but if ours sign it than others would have no reason why to refuse recognizing it,” Samardzic said.

Faulty of Philosophy, Professor in Novi Sad, Srdjan Sljukic said it is not the moment at all to allow Kosovo in UN and to give up on everything.

“Reality is changeable, and there would be no more times such sanctions in 1992, or bombardment in 1999,” Sljukic said.
