Works on reconstruction of Pristina-Bujanovac highway, near Lipljan should start on Monday, RTV Puls reported today.
The Manager General of the Kosovo Ministry of Infrastructure for this project, Qemal Jonuzi told gathered inhabitants in Novo Brdo municipality the aim is to start and finish the work as soon as possible. He presented the path of the highway that would pass through Koretiste, Stanisor and Gornje Kusce villages.
Kosovo Government earlier have adopted a plan on land expropriation and secured funds to compensate affected land owners.
Inhabitants from Koretiste village expressed dissatisfaction as they were belated informed about this capital investment and asked contact with the Ministry of Finance to guide them on the conditions and manners of payment, respectively about the rights owners of the land parcels have.
Major of Novo Brdo Municipality, Svetislav Ivanovic was also present at the meeting, saying the role of the local self-governance is intermediary and is limited to informing citizens by central-level institutions.
He welcomed a new highway in Novo Brdo municipality, saying that citizens hope it would contribute to the economic development of that and neighbouring municipalities.
