Serbian daily Kurir reported that Miroslav, brother of murdered Oliver Ivanovic, said surveillance cameras in the party’s premises were working at the time of the assassination of CI SDP leader, despite of information from the Kosovo prosecution claiming the cameras started working only 10 minutes after the murder.

“I know that the system of four cameras on the building of the party’s seat functioned well. I often entered that room with four monitors and I know that at least one camera was set up to cover a part of the street and sidewalk in front of the building, which means also the spot where Oliver was killed. After all, the cameras covered every part of Mitrovica and if someone wanted to discover the movement of that car, he could have done it by rewinding the recordings. Investigators told me that this vehicle was in Mitrovica for at least 20 days,” Ivanović pointed out.

He added, in his view it’s completely unlikely that no camera did record a car that was burned right after the murder. “At the very least, all of that is confusing and of course I object it,” he said.

Ksenija Bozovic CI SDP deputy leader also told “Kurir” that the cameras on the party building have always worked, and it was absolutely unbelievable explanation that only an ambulance was recorded because of the alleged malfunction.

“In the prosecution, I received an answer that our cameras did not work from January 4 to 10 minutes after the murder of Oliver Ivanovic. This was also confirmed by some representatives of international organizations. There is no way that this is true, because Oliver was so conscientious that he would not allow our cameras not to function  for 12 days, especially when we were getting constant threats. I have the right to doubt because it was so urgent for the investigative unit to take these footages while we were still in the hospital waiting to be informed about Oliver’s health condition,” she told Kurir.

As she pointed out, neither she nor anyone from the party is permitted to review those footages.

“They claim that only the ambulance can be seen, but I wonder how it is possible for the cameras to suddenly start working, ten minutes after the murder. To precisely begin functioning so that the scene of the murder cannot be seen. Well, somebody probably had to activate them. Who can believe all of this? And now we are asking for this receiver to be returned to us and see what is on the recordings,” Bozovic said.
