McAllister: Rule of law….Vucic: I have nothing to add (BETA)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and European Parliament Rapporteur, David McAllister assessed last night Serbia is progressing on its path towards the EU, however, rule of law reforms and Kosovo remain the major challenges, BETA news agency reported.

At a joint press conference, McAllister said that 2018 is a crucial year for the Western Balkans, as it is in the focus of EU again, and has an opportunity to realize its European perspective.

He added, when it comes to Serbia, “the EU wishes to see progress in the rule of law and normalization of relations with Kosovo.”

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said “he has nothing to add or remove” related to McAllister’s assessment of the judicial system in Serbia and rule of law situation.”

Vucic underlined Serbia has one major remaining issue, relation between Belgrade and Pristina, “not because someone promised something to somebody, but because someone is responsible enough to think about Serbia’s future,” Serbian media reported.
