Leader of Peoples’ Party Vuk Jeremic told TV Nasa, Serbian President and SNS leader Aleksandar Vucic by surrendering to the West vital Serbian national interests pays for his remain in power, acts humbly towards internationals in order to do “whatever he wants” in Serbia.

Jeremic went on saying Vucic intends to give Pristina a seat in the UN this year, then to accept to disenfranchise Republic of Srpska, bring Serbia into NATO, but would request from internationals not to criticize him during that period “over small matters” such as rule of law issues and media control.

He added, Vucic plans to rule Serbia for decades in a same manner as “his political role model and close partner” Milo Djukanovic does in Montenegro.

“If Vucic surrenders Kosovo, he would then say to his partners from the West – Look, I resolved you the hardest issue, no one but me would dare do so. I can resolve the Bosnia issue too, but I need some time, and you should not criticize me during that period.”

According to Jeremic, when that is done, Vucic would ask for three or four years to make Serbia become a NATO member and it would never end.

He added, door to Serbia’s membership to the EU would not open for at least the next 12 years, whatever solution to the Kosovo issue would be, since the EU stopped its enlargement process due to its internal problems, something that French President Macron clearly said and “it is a wall that cannot be jumped over.”

“This, however, does not mean that we should not build a society based on European values and standards, which is our greatest interest,” Jeremic noted.

He once more invited President Vucic to a TV duel.

“If Vucic is “a hero” and has evidences on what he said about me over the previous years, let him choose the place, time and format. I invited him for a duel dozens of times, and he dared to respond not a single time, while he is on the TV every day. For six years in power he did not dare to do so, neither with me, nor anyone else who has criticized him,” Jeremic said, adding “it would be a rather interesting duel,” Danas daily reported.
