According to the Belgrade-based media outlet Alo, Ambassador of Russian Federation to Serbia, Alexander Chepurin said Russia would accept the division of Kosovo and Metohija, if Serbia considers it would be the best solution, Tanjug and RTV reported.
Ambassador Chepurin made these remarks commenting Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic statement that “Albanians would agree to division of Kosovo, and that it is in their interest.”
“We respect the position of Serbia and we would support a solution, which Serbia considers as the best,” Chepurin told Alo and added that “a good solution should be reached in a long process of a dialogue and I see no reasons for haste and swift resolving.”
According to Chepurin, Russia would support every decision of Serbia.
“The saying “what is good for Serbia, it is good for Russia” is still valid. What matters to Moscow is that the offered solution is in the interest of Serbia. There is no doubt that Serbian Government, President Vucic and Minister Dacic would do what is the best for the country,” Russian Ambassador said.
