Members of the Montenegrin Parliament are discussing sending up to 40 members of the Army of Montenegro to the international “Resolute Support” mission in Afghanistan and two staff officers to KFOR in Kosovo, media reported.
Serbian Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin commented on the debate in the Montenegrin parliament and said that decision to send the troops to Kosovo, not as a support to the security of Serbs, but in support of Kosovo’s independence, cannot be a decision Serbia will consider as a friendly one, reported Serbian media.
“I regret that the leadership of Montenegro persistently forgets that in Kosovo and Metohija exists Serbia and the people of Serbia and the interests of Serbia,” Vulin said, according to the statement.
Members of the Montenegrin Parliament today are discussing sending up to 40 members of the Montenegrin Army to the international “Resolute Support” mission in Afghanistan, and two staff officers in KFOR in Kosovo, according to the Radio Television of Montenegro (RTCG).
While the Democratic Party of Socialists believes that the engagement of members of the Montenegrin army in the international mission in Kosovo contributes to the preservation of peace in the region, the opposition claims that this decision is not good, nor correct towards Serbia and Serbs in Montenegro.
