Leader of Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) Milos Jovanovic commenting on statements Serbian President Vucic made after the Brussels meeting with Hashim Thaci, said that Vucic repeated the truth he has concealed for many years, but also a lie trying to convince citizens that the frozen conflict in Kosovo is contrary to the interests of Serbia.
The truth is that urgent recognition of Kosovo is a precondition for the continuation of European integration and Serbia’s accession to the EU, while the lie is that the frozen resolution of Kosovo final status would influence decrease of foreign investments, Jovanovic said in a written statement.
According to Jovanovic, foreign investments depend upon many other issues but Kosovo and Serbia’s EU membership, including the price of the labour force, regulation of the legal system, level of corruption and Free Trade Agreement which Serbia has signed. He also added the level of foreign investments in Serbia was the highest at times when the Kosovo status issue was in its resting phase.
