Last night around 10:00 PM, unknown person broke into the house of Savka Asanin in village Ljevosa near Peć/Pejë. It is about second robbery in the same village in last three days. Due to frequent robberies four out of twenty returnees have left the village. Savka Asanin lives on her own in Ljevosa where she returned nine years ago. Her house was robbed while she was visiting neighbors. Village representative Ranko Bakic reported the robbery to Kosovo police and said that police told them that they have reinforced security measures in that village. “There is operation plan. We have reinforced security measures, not only in village Ljevosa but in all surrounding villages where we think that the similar things could happen,” said Kosovo police in Peć/Pejë. Locals say that most difficult period is when the night comes because they are on their own and they don’t feel safe. They also said that it depends on authorities whether abandoning of the village will continue.
