Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, said that the EU also bears a share of responsibility for the decision of the Kosovo government to impose an import tariff on products from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Speaking to French media, Rama said the decision was a type of “political outburst” on the part of Pristina authorities as they were promised visa liberalisation and the EU failed to deliver. Rama said Kosovo fulfilled all necessary criteria for visa liberalisation and despite the European Parliament’s positive vote, “[EU]member states did nothing in this direction.”
