The Pristina Basic Court has started a hearing on the murder case of two UNMIK police officers in 2004.
Shkumbin Mehmeti was the only one sentenced for this case, but the Special Prosecution has filed further testimonies, on two new accused: Alban Dezdari and Bedri Krasniqi, informs Klan Kosova.
Prosecutor Bukurije Xhonbalaj said that they will present to the court materials that testify the charge.
She has introduced new witnesses who will testify on the case of 15 years ago, which are altogether 12, including the only convicted Mehmeti, who will testify once again for what happened on the critical day.
Then the affected parties will have the possibility to make statements about the consequences caused by the two new accused, who will also be heard as witnesses.
While the hearing is ongoing, Dezdari has not pleaded guilty saying that he will present evidence that will reveal the truth.
“It was a bargain of the Italian prosecutor, Danillo Cicarelli, who has conditioned Shkumbin Mehmeti to mention me,” he said.
Re-hearing of the case came after the co-operation of the convict, Shkumbin Mehmeti with the Prosecution.
