Kosovo Assembly Speaker Kadri Veseli said stopping and interviewing the member of Kosovo government Srdjan Jovanovic is an unacceptable action which aims persecution of Kosovo Serbs who want to integrate in Kosovo. “This is an act that aims encouragement of hatred and insecurity among Kosovo Serbs,” Veseli said. He added that the European Union should react and request from Serbia to stop these provocative actions.

Kosovo’s Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj also expressed concern about this event. “This stopping, which is not the first one of this nature, proves clearly once again  that methods of apprehension used by Serbian authorities, are a sign of aggression towards Kosovo citizens,” Haradinaj said. He also appealed to Brussels authorities to reflect and address behavior of Serbian authorities towards Kosovo citizens. “This aggression does not help normalization of the relations between our countries,” Haradinaj added.

Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj took to Twitter to write that “Harassment and mistreatment of  Kosovo Serbs is part of the plan to blackmail those who think differently from Belgrade. Just today, Srdjan Jovanovic of Liberal Party is held and questioned for no reason by Serbian police. This is unacceptable and should be condemned by EU.”
