Naim Rashiti, head of the Pristina-based Balkans Policy Research Group, said in an interview to Klan Kosova today that dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia must be brought on track and that there will be another attempt to do so at the upcoming summit in Paris. Rashiti argued that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is faced with many problems at home. “Vucic lacks the courage to push the Kosovo process forward. He lacks support among the people, he has problems with the Orthodox Church and with Moscow which hasn’t given him the go-ahead to resolve the Kosovo issue,” he added. Rashiti said the recent summit in Berlin was aimed at helping the process of dialogue. “France and Germany will never sidestep the High Representative. The whole effort was to have closer coordination with the United States of America in the process,” he said. “A solution cannot be found without Germany, France and the U.S. Paris is trying to put the process on a stable track and the U.S. is continuously supporting this.”
