Elections for the municipal mayors of Leposavic, Zubin Potok, Zvecan and Mitrovica North will be held on the second half of May, respectively on 19 of this month.
Central Election Commission (CEC) has nominated 670 commissioners, who will be engaged at 44 polling stations with 87 polling centers in total.
CEC spokesperson told Indeksonline all preparations are going as planned and that there were no obstacles so far.
He added that the election campaign in the four municipalities with Serb majority will start on 13 May and it will last five days.
“CEC is working with commitment to enable on 19 May commencement of the right to vote for all citizens, guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo. CEC calls upon citizens with the right to vote at these municipalities to use this right, while we invite political entities, candidates and their supporters to respect the laws and code of conduct during this election process,” he said.
He also explained that the deadline for the requests for observers’ accreditation is 12 May.
