The Kosovo Assembly’s ad hoc committee tasked with preparing a drat resolution condemning genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes in Kosovo has approved the text of the draft resolution in today’s meeting.
Member of the committee, Bilall Sherifi said that the issue of setting up a special tribunal to deal with war crimes committed by Serbian forces in Kosovo and the resolution for condemning genocide are separate but that they should proceed in parallel way. “The request of the Assembly speaker should not be seen as clashing with this one but rather as two initiatives that can move forwards at the same time,” Sherifi added.
