Kosovo’s Minister of Justice, Abelard Tahiri, said that despite the twenty-year period that has passed, war crimes committed in Kosovo have not gotten old and need to be addressed by local institutions.
“Twenty years have passed but not even if 200 had passed, justice cannot be denied and those that are responsible for war crimes, for the crimes perpetrated in Kosovo in 98-99, should know that time does not save them from responsibility,” Tahiri said at the meeting of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council.
He said the injustices need to be tackled so that they don’t become a source of tension and keep the future hostage.
