Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj commented today on the process of dialogue with Serbia, saying that EU High Representative Federica Mogherini no longer leads the process and that as a result Kosovo has been saved from partition, the news website reports. “The Berlin Summit was a very precious and successful event for Kosovo because the process of dialogue has been taken away from Mogherini, and Kosovo could have faced the worst scenario possible – partition,” Haradinaj is quoted as saying. He further argued that the process is now under the responsibility of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emanuel Macron. “This is the biggest success because dialogue has been removed from an address that could have surprised Kosovo with a bad agreement”. Haradinaj also said that “whoever believed that by dividing Kosovo there could be an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, they have now seen that that project is closed. We can now be at peace because dialogue has been shifted from Mogherini to Merkel, and the latter has always had a clear position against the exchange of territories and border changes. It is now clear that there is no longer a threat from partition”.
