The Alliance for Serbia (SzS) states today that the possibility of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic’s participation in the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) Assembly is an abuse of the Church by Vucic and the SPC Patriarch Irinej, adding that this is a play that is allegedly anesthetizing SPC before the decision on Kosovo.
SzS says that today’s confirmation of the possibility of Vucic’s participation in the Assembly, sees as the damage of the SPC and its believers.
“We sharply condemn this precedent, the call for participation by Patriarch Irinej, and we consider that all those who do not support the present government have been brought into the position that the Assembly can not hear their views, either on the question of democracy in Serbia, but also the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, “the statement said, adding that this play is” anesthetizing the SPC before the unconstitutional decisions on the surrender of Kosovo and Metohija, which Vucic suggests “.
SzS says that patriarchs and bishops will receive at that gathering “a one-sided message from a man who offends and opposes dialogue on topics such as free elections and free media”, and that the Kosovo issue was “privatized” by the president of Serbia and that he violated the Constitution of Serbia by it.
