It’s important that mayoral elections in four municipalities in the north of Kosovo take place without incidents and in a democratic atmosphere.
The director of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric, said this on Monday in Belgrade in conversation with the head of the OSCE mission in Kosovo, Jan Braathu.
Djuric stressed that any possible attempt at changing the electoral will of citizens by the provisional institutions of self-government in Pristina must be prevented.
Djuric also pointed out the increasingly frequent pressure by Pristina on the Serbian List and neglect of the election will of the citizens of Serb ethnicity, a statement from his office said.
Djuric and Braathu spoke about the political and security situation in Kosovo and agreed that it was necessary to remove the obstacles to the continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and renew efforts to build inter-ethnic confidence on the ground.
