The Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo submitted its report on the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue under European Union auspices to parliament on Thursday.

The 80-page report covers the 2013-2019 period and will be debated at the parliament session on Kosovo on Monday, May 27. It was made available to all MPs and the public.

It says that Serbia chose an active and determined engagement in the negotiations and created “a kind of strategic surprise”, adding that Serbia managed to preserve the peace in Kosovo during the negotiations.

Serbia’s engagement in the dialogue managed to “partly ease the uncompromising stand of the supporters of Kosovo’s so-called independence who no longer believe that Kosovo’s independence is a completed”.

Serbia also manage to completely protect its interests in the context of European integration “without making fundamental concessions”.

“Despite criticism about an alleged surrender of Serb interests in northern Kosovo, the Serbs in that area are currently dominant with their political, police and judiciary institutions and that dominance is recognized by Pristina and the international factor,” the report says.

It said that there had been 188 meetings, including 24 at high political level, since 2013 with 45 agreements signed at political, technical and expert level.
