Gazeta Express covers an interview that Christopher Hill, former U.S. Ambassador to Skopje and mediator in the Kosovo – Serbia dispute, gave to Deutsche Welle, highlighting his remarks that a possible land swap between Kosovo and Serbia is not the solution and that Europe must resolve the problem because the U.S. administration under the Trump leadership has set asides the Kosovo issue. “I would leave aside solutions based on territories and I would initially deal with other problems that exist between Serbia and Kosovo. If territorial exchange is something that all parties agree upon, then it should include the 1975 Helsinki Accords, the OSCE … But I think that at this point, the territorial issue between Mitrovica and Presevo Valley should be seen more as a symptom of deeper problems that exist between Serbia and Kosovo … I wouldn’t consider the territorial exchange a final and realistic solution to the problem,” Hill said.
