Kosovo President Hashim Thaci wrote on Facebook about today’s Kosovo-wide police operation against organized crime: “Law enforcement institutions need maximal trust and support of all the society in the uncompromised war against organised crime, smuggling and corruption, throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo. I express my regret for the wounding of our police officer in the line of duty and I wish him a speedy recovery. In the second decade of the Republic of Kosovo there will be no room for organised crime and those that deal with unlawful activities will end behind bars. Today’s police operation is in the good of all citizens without any distinction and I call on the Serb community in the north to maintain calm and support fight against organised crime. Strengthening the rule of law is vital for the equality of all citizens and speeds up our movement towards the process of Euro-Atlantic integrations”.
