A group of Kosovo artists and journalists travelling to Belgrade to take part in the “Miredita, Dobar Dan” annual festival, whose aim is to bring together people from Kosovo and Serbia through culture, have been thoroughly searched by authorities of Serbia at the border crossing point of Merdare.
Kosovo’s Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli reacted. “Condemn in strongest terms the behaviour of Serbian border police on the participants from Kosovo of the Miredita, Dobar Dan! activity that seeks reconciliation between the two countries. It’s the same mentality and behaviour of Serbian police such as in the 90s,” Pacolli tweeted and tagged on his post the EU External Action Service and High Representative Federica Mogherini.
Kallxo reports that the festival has been met with protest in Belgrade. Its reporter that is part of the group taking part in the festival said they are now travelling to Belgrade with police escort.
