David McAllister, rapporteur for Serbia at the European Parliament, said Serbia should proceed with the process of the dialogue with Kosovo and reach of a legal binding agreement as soon as possible.
During the presentation of the report for this year, McAllister requested from Serbia to continue with reforms in crucial fields of judiciary, war against corruption, organized crime as well as freedom of speech and media.
He said Serbia is making progress on its path towards EU and the general rhythm of negotiations depends on the progress of endorsing and implementing reforms in the main fields.
Mcallister added that dialogue and normalization of the relations with Kosovo is a major challenge for Serbia.
“The dialogue should restart as soon as possible, but we know that it is necessary to reach a legally binding agreement,” he said.
