Kosovo’s Assembly Speaker Kadri Veseli called on all MPs of the Assembly despite party distinctions to unite on voting today the initiative for the “tribunal on Serbian genocide in Kosovo.”
He said that despite of being initiator for the establishment of the tribunal, he only aims creation while the merits would belong to all parliamentary entities.
“Even when I initiated it, I told you let this initiative come from all of us, only let us create it as two decades have passed and no one has undertaken any initiative to seek justice for thousands of victims and hundreds of massacres committed by Serbian forces in Kosovo,” Veseli said.
He added that the “Assembly today should say yes to the creation of a state commission for the tribunal on Serbian genocide.”
Parliamentary groups are currently discussing the way of unifying their positions in order to vote creation of the state commission for the tribunal today.
Two other points in today’s agenda of the Assembly are the Museum of Genocide in the center of Pristina and the Museum of expelled at the train station in Pristina.
