Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has proposed today that the draft law on the funding of political parties should be withdrawn at the next government meeting, following concerns raised by civil society organizations. Haradinaj wrote in a Facebook post: “Following concerns raised by civil society about amendments made to the draft law on the funding of political parties, during the works of parliamentary committees, I have proposed that in the next meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, to withdraw this draft law from the Kosovo Assembly. Knowing how important this draft law is to the development of democracy in the country, the need for transparency in the service of policymaking and the inclusion of all parties, we believe it is right to withdraw the draft law and review it with a better legal and democratic basis”.
