The Parliament of Germany has decided to extend the mandate of the Bundeswehr in Kosovo for another year. However, they also decided to halve the number of German soldiers from 800 to 400.
Extension of the mandate of German soldiers as part of KFOR was objected by the extreme right political party AFD as well as by the leftists, reports the portal.
However, the other political parties supported extension of the mandate, stressing the importance of peace in the Balkans region. “For us, the Green Party, peace in the region is the main intention. Therefore, we agree for the extension of KFOR’s mandate,” said at the Parliament Manuel Sarrazin form the Green Party.
