The news website reports that “Belgrade is planning to send an ‘aid convoy’ to the northern part of Kosovo after orchestrating a humanitarian crisis there”. Unnamed sources in the Kosovo government told RTV Dukagjini that they will not allow the convoy to enter Kosovo’s territory and that customs authorities at the Jarinje border crossing point have received such instructions. The same sources said that once the convoy is stopped, Belgrade will try to use this to cause more tensions in the north. Members of the so-called Civil Protection have also reportedly been instructed to cause more tensions. Meanwhile, the mayors of the four northern municipalities will meet this evening with businessmen and other influential individuals in the north and people that have arrived from Belgrade, to discuss the details of the “next step”. Mitrovica South Mayor Agim Bahtiri confirmed this information to RTV Dukagjini. Bahtiri also argued that Belgrade should not send convoys to the north because the Kosovo government has already taken necessary measures.
