The meeting of the Assembly presidency planned for today failed, as the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the Vetevendosje Movement boycotted it.
Avdullah Hoti from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) said the session cannot be called by the coalition of minority.
“Sessions of the Assembly cannot be called when all the points are in a marathonic session since September of the last year. It does not make sense to call such sessions. We express the position that we are ready to sit and discuss on how to pull the country out of this crisis. And that means to sit and set the date of elections,” Hoti said.
Albulena Haxhiu from Vetevendosje Movement said opposition left the meeting due to the arrogance of the representatives of PAN minority. “The only solution are elections. Opposition does not accept to continue as if nothing has happened despite the scandals and despite the political decisions. The motion of bringing down the government can be submitted tomorrow, no matter if we have 61 signatures or not. Elections are the only possibility to overcome crisis,” she said.
Shqipe Pantina from the Social-Democratic Party (PSD) submitted the signatures for the motion of bringing down the government and said that PSD has 12 signatures ready.
Deputy President of the Assembly of Kosovo Xhavit Haliti said opposition do not want to commence their duties, which is in contradiction with the Constitution and regulations of the Assembly.
“They are obliged to commence their duties. LDK representatives left the meeting and there was impossible to have quorum,” Haliti said.
