Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said the agreement on common foreign policy of Pristina and Tirana and joint embassies is not naive. She added it is scandalous that there is no reaction of the US or the EU regarding that, Tanjug news agency reported.

“It is terrible that Pristina and Tirana have signed an agreement to have a common foreign policy now. This is not naive; this is rather serious. The scandal is that we have not seen yet any official reactions either by US or the EU,” Brnabic told TV Pink.

She noted Pristina does it at the moment when the EU cannot react, because new the European Commission is being established and new members elected. According to her, it was done at the moment when many things are changing, while the new EU High Representative for Foreign Policy, who should also moderate Belgrade-Pristina dialogue come from Spain that does not recognize unilaterally declared Kosovo independence.

She also said it was important that the US Congressman Eliot Engel visited Belgrade and talked to the President Aleksandar Vucic, and although they have different stances on the Kosovo issue eventual solution and a compromise can only be reached through talks.

Asked if US would be a crucial factor in resolving the Kosovo issue and whether the EU would be pushed aside Brnabic responded it is something Pristina and US insist upon.

“It is acceptable for us only if we have other states of the UN SC that do not recognize Kosovo involved. Our destination is the EU, this is the issue of Europe’s and EU security, and the dialogue must be under the EU’s auspices,” Brnabic concluded.
