The President of Albania, Ilir Meta has not respected the decision of Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama not to participate at the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) Summit, organized in Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the Summit, Meta called on Bosnia and Herzegovina to make the first steps of accepting the new reality of Kosovo as an independent state.
Meta said Kosovo was obliged not to participate at such organization as the invitation did not treat it as an independent state and criticized participating countries for this. “How can we pretend successful regional cooperation when some representatives participating at this Summit, work to exclude some countries from profiting from these regional cooperations? Meta asked.
He further called on Bosnia and Herzegovina to advance its position and recognize Kosovo as an independent state.
“Now is the prime time for Bosnia and Herzegovina to make a step forward of accepting the reality that Kosovo is an independent and sovereign state. Respecting the neighbors is essential for the Western Balkans countries,” Meta said.
Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama has decided not to participate at SEEPC Summit as sign of solidarization with Kosovo.
